Kurt and Sammy rule

You will be away how many days????
It has been such as busy week at Threadbear, flat out, non stop work...for Kurt and Sammy that is.
And that is because all the girls, Corliss, Megan, Zanny & Annabelle had decided to pack a car load full of  Toblerone, Baileys, red wine and lots of lovely sewing and head off for four blissful days of luxury. Megan even packed her Kitchen Aide so we would have a never ending supply of scones, jam and whipped cream.
We sewed, ate, slept, and sipped our way through each day until it was time to come back and relieve  Kurt & Sammy of their duties.
Because Sammy was working so hard in the shop we though it best not to tell him we had Matilda along with us for a bit of puppy company. Sammy was working hard but Matilda just accepted the occasional tummy rub and slept.
Kurt and Sammy must have worked hard while we were away because everything was spic and span on our return and congratulations to Kurt for the latest addition to his shop, he has made a new kitchen bench that is so beautiful....best ever, we think. Wouldn't you just love to have one of his custom made kitchen benches...hhhhmmm..if only they would work in the sewing room, maybe that granite top would be the perfect size for a cutting mat.

We were pleased to come back to at least one box of fabric, just delivered..we have Mill Book Series c. 1835 from Moda and as usual..pretty pretty pretty.  This range has one great signature print and  wispy pink all over print and loads of gorgeous soft blenders ranging from deep but soft reds through pretty pinks, blues and greens, and hoorah, more good purples, always handy.  This range is $22.00 per mt. and we have the prettiest fat 1/8 packs of the 16 blenders for $48.00.

New magazines have arrived this week.  Quiltmania no. 95 arrived and as usual is full of gorgeous projects, all so beautifully photographed and once again featuring several Australian designers. We have however already sold out of this edition so we mention it as a reminder that if you don't want to miss out on a copy of  Quiltmania just call us or send us an email and we will add your name to our list.

The latest edition of the Japanese magazine "Patchwork Tsushin" also arrived.  If you are a fan of this magazine you will love this edition, it is full of lots of great projects, bags, purses, quilts and in this edition lots of ideas and patterns for pretty stitcheries.

We wish you all a happy weekend and hope that everyone's weekend includes lots of sewing. We are relaxed and happy from out days away and we think that maybe Kurt and Sammy are just hoping for a bit of a rest.

  1. Sounds like you all had a very well deserved break away. Gold star to Megan for taking the kitchen aid! I bet Sammy was glad to see you all back though.
