Gadget Heaven.

Yes, that's right, this week at Threadbear we are in gadget heaven.....everyone loves a new sewing tool, right....and all the better when they are incredibly useful and become an instant favourite addition to the sewing room.

First we have these wonderful nesting diamond and hexagon templates from Matilda's Own.  Both sets have 10 templates ranging from 3/8" to 2"......the see through centres are just perfect for fussy cutting and both sets work together for piecing with both hexagons and diamonds. Click HERE to order your set.

It is not too late to tell Santa these are an absolute must have.....even if you only have a few days off over Christmas these templates will have you engrossed in hours of fussy cutting fun.

And then we have Karen Kay Buckley's Perfect Adjustable Square....a series of linking pieces lets you construct square rulers in many sizes you will need up to 24 1/2".....perfect for squaring up large blocks, without the storage worries of  large square rulers.

Not only is it going to be a very handy addition to our sewing rooms but it comes beautifully packaged in a great storage box, making it easy to keep all the pieces together in one spot. This ruler set is $105.00 and will replace several large square rulers in your sewing room.

Threadbear is enjoying all things Di Ford this week....not only do we have new patterns in the shop from Di but we also have her beautiful quilts in the shop....if you are planning a visit to Threadbear before we close for our break on Saturday 20th December, or when we reopen on January 3rd, you will be able to see Di Ford's gorgeous quilts hanging in the shop.
We can't take our eyes off Di's beautiful Mountmellick...hanging in the shop for all to enjoy.

We also have copies of Quiltmania's  Mountmellick  pattern so if you missed out on any copies of the magazine throughout the year but would still love to make this gorgeous quilt we have the complete pattern for sale for $50.00. Click here to order.

We are also celebrating the arrival of Di Ford's pattern for "Sutton Grange"....We have the pattern in stock now and Di's stunning quilt is spending some time with us so you can see it on your next visit to the shop. The pattern is $35.00.  Click here to order.

Sammy's gift recommendation for today is the wonderful sets of diamonds and hexagons....Sammy says that if there is any doubt at all that Santa may not include these great templates in your Christmas stocking,  it is perfectly OK to buy them for yourself.

You can tell by the look on Sammy's face that he is concerned that we all have hours of fussy cutting fun over our Christmas break.

Hollywood Comes to Threadbear.

Castlemaine was recently chosen as the location for many of the scenes being filmed for the upcoming ABC mini series "Glitch" to be screened in 2015....imagine how excited we all were when Threadbear was chosen as one of the locations.....so on Wednesday Threadbear was transformed from fabric store into a gentleman's country outfitters....out with the fabrics and in with the R.M.Williams men's wear...there were cameras and lights and much excitement.

We all look forward to seeing the shop take a starring role when the series goes to air next year.....there was only one oversight on the part of the producers....Sammy was on the spot to take a starring role but was completely overlooked.

Now......this new range "Prairie Gathering" by Pam Buda is full of fantastic small prints, all in two of our all time favourite colours...with 14 deep delicious reds and 13 great honey beiges this range is just a wonderful collection of prints we would love to use.

The 1/8 pack would be a wonderful addition to any sewing room....it is always great to have a supply of great reds and creamy beiges on hand, the 1/8 pack is $81.00 for all 27 prints and if you would like a closer look at the whole range they are on our website.

Thanks today goes to Kerry for a fantastic show and tell....there is a little boy out there that is going to be so happy to receive this gift....isn't it the very best little boys quilt.  Kerry we love those dinosours, thank you for bring your quilt in to share with us all....it is great quilt...we smile just looking at it.

We have great new LED  lamps in stock.  As well as the ever popular, portable and rechargeable LED lamp that we stock we now have 2 LED table top lamps, one a regular adjustable desk lamp and one with a flexible gooseneck and a great organiser at the lamp base.  Both throw a cool white light that is perfect for colour matching.

Portable LED light $34.95
Desk Lamp $44.00

Goose Neck Lamp $38.50
These lamps are Sammy's recommendation for a fantastic Christmas gift but once again he is way too busy to pose....he is off on deliveries with his Dad Kurt....out on the wide open road with the wind in his hair.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone...hope everyone enjoys lots and lots of  lovely sewing  time.

3 Cheers for Vera.

Just look what Vera brought us for show and tell yesterday...can you believe it, finished, quilted and bound...the very first finished Mountmellick to come visiting.  Vera did her own quilting and it is stunning, what a fantastic quilt, so pretty..thank you for bringing your finished quilt to show us Vera....3 cheers Vera.

We hope that Vera's Mountmellick quilt is the first of many that we can share for show and tell, we look forward to seeing lots of them as you all finish of your mystery block of the month for 2014.  And this is a great time to thank Di Ford for her wonderful pattern and all the fun we have had throughout the year making this beautiful quilt.

Good grief....we are of course all meant to be thinking of buying gifts for our friends and loved ones over the festive season...but we think this stunning new range may be a gift we just have to give ourselves. "Threads of Time" is a big range, 44 in total and every single print in this range is a stunner...lots of beautiful small reproduction prints in dusty but intense reproduction colours....we could rave on about this range but just feast your eyes and you will see what we mean.

"
1/8 packs have all 44 prints for $132.00......and Santa, if your are reading this, an 1/8 pack would fit beautifully in a stocking.

Last Saturdays CAG meeting, our last meeting for 2014 was full of festive spirit and heaps of laughter and fun.

Erica took out the prize for the best festive head wear with a fabulous Aussie Christmas hat but the room was full of a wonderful headwear....

Thank you to all our CAG members for a whole year of fun...thank you all for your great company and generosity through out the year, we look forward to another wonderful year of quilty fun in 2015.

Look at these amazing greeting cards and gift tags we have in the shop for Christmas....they are so special, simply stunning and any of your quilting friends would be thrilled to receive one of these cards.  The cards are $11.50 each and the gift tags are $8.00 for six adorable, funny cards.

Sammy says these cards are the perfect way to send your Christmas greetings ...he was way too busy to pose with his daily gift suggestion, he has a good spot near the door, just perfect for collecting pats, and he just couldn't be moved.
