Bags, Bags, Bags.

Thank you to everyone that joined us on Saturday for the April meeting of the Castlemaine Appliqué Group...as always it was a great day.

A huge thank you to Mandy for bringing along this drop dead gorgeous quilt for Show and Tell...Mandy's quilt is jaw droppingly stunning and we are so grateful that she allowed us to take some pics to share with you.  Mandy has made this beautiful quilt from Robyn Falloon's amazing "Pas de Deux" pattern....and just look at the result, all reverse appliqué with perfect hidden stitches and then finished with perfect hand quilting...we were all taken away with the beauty of Mandy's quilt.

Our last order of Japanese Patchwork Tsushin magazines disappeared in a snap because they had lots of great bags and small projects in them so we thought it would be a good time to tell you that we have some back issues of this fantastic magazine on sale for $20.00 per copy.  As we always say, the fact that they are written in Japanese is no barrier to enjoying these great magazines and the instructions are very clear, well illustrated, and easy to follow.
Each issue has a great combination of inspirational quilts, lots of cute small projects and those fabulous bag patterns we love so much. Just call us at the shop if you are interested in any of these great Japanese magazines at a great price.

We have a sneak peak from a few of these issues....issue no 147
And issue no. 148
Issue no. 149
Issue no.164
And issue no. 172

As usual Sammy had a brilliant time at CAG...he just loves catching up with all his CAG friends and says thank you for all the pats....all the fun of CAG seems to have given Sammy an appetite...is Annabelle giving Sammy a cuddle...or holding him back from the sandwiches.

We Love Visitors

Hi Everyone, we hope you all had a wonderful break over Easter, and just a reminder that Threadbear will be closed again this coming Friday, April 25th, for Anzac Day.

We have a new quilt visiting Threadbear this week.  "Charlotte" is a new pattern from Wattlebird Designs and we are lucky enough to have the quilt hanging in the shop for us to enjoy...patterns are not on the website yet but they are $30.00 and you can call or email us if your fingers are itching to start a new project.

"Show and Tell" is always exciting,  we love it when we see a quilt come through the door, all ready for us to have a sticky beak at...so, thanks to Karin for sharing her very sophisticated eye spy quilt, made for her Grandson...Karin has designed this quilt with lots and lots of  great images that will keep her grandson entertained for hours...plus it it such a happy colourful quilt.

And just look at this absolutely stunning quilt, made by Robyn...we have enjoyed Robyn's visits to the shop as she has collected all the fabrics she used for her "Civil War Sampler", made from Barbara Brackman's fantastic book.  Robyn has put so much care into choosing all her fabrics and we bet you will all love the result as much as we do.....Robyn thank you for sharing, your quilt is just beautiful.

We still have Barbara Brackman's book, "Civil War Sampler" in stock if you have been inspired by Robyn's quilt.  It is a great book, with patterns for 50 blocks and lots of great stories from the Civil War.

Have you ever been half way through a quilt and just wished you had a design wall so you could stand back and see your work in progress.....well look at this great fabric we have so that we can all have our very own design wall....this fabric is flannel so  blocks will stick well as you stand back to admire your work, it has a handy grid print and is a good neutral colour.... at $24.00 mt is is a great affordable way to have a handy design wall and easy to store if you don't have room to leave it hanging.

We just want to say hello to Margaret and Sofia who came all the way from Brisbane for a visit...they wanted a photo to show all their sewing friends they had been to Threadbear...so here is the proof...thanks for visiting us, hope we see you on your next visit.

We have just received  two new copies of  Japan's famous patchwork magazine "Patchwork Tsushin". Both editions have lots of small projects including some really cute bags to make.

Well it looks like Sammy is checking out the diary to see what we have coming up.

We are closed this Friday, April 25th for Anzac Day but what is has really caught Sammy's attention is the meeting of the Castlemaine Appliqué Group this coming Saturday....we love CAG meetings as they are always such fun days but to Sammy it just means pats, and plenty of them.

Fabric Everywhere.

First of all, a reminder about our Easter Trading Hours.
We are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday 18th & 20th of April and we are also closed
Anzac Day 25th April.
As we are closed on the above days that will be the ideal time to be home, sewing and eating chocolate.

We would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone that came to visit us during our sale last week.  We had a really great time in the shop catching up with so many of you...and thank you to everyone, every day, for your continuing support and friendship....Threadbear did indeed have a very happy 21st birthday.

Now, let's talk about fabric.....because we have got fabric, fabric, fabric.  There is so much new fabric that we can't show it all on the blog today but all the new fabric is on our website so if you love any of the sneak peaks from our new ranges, just follow the links to the website to see the complete ranges.  Even Sammy is excited about all our new fabric.

All of our new deliveries are gorgeous, but you will need to be sitting down for these next two ranges...my oh my, they are stunning.

And if you can stand to look at more "must have" gorgeous fabric....well just look at this.  "Enduring Legacy-Old Sturbridge Village" by Judy Rothermel is just a stand out range of 24 prints, and you will want them all...follow the link to see all 24 of these great prints in the most gorgeous colours.

As usual we have lots of pre cut, fat 1/8 packs ready to go in all our new ranges if you would like a little bit of each.

We will be back on Tuesday with our next blog post.....a four day holiday is surely a wonderful sewing opportunity, so we hope you all get a heap of sewing time....but be careful not to get chocolate on your sewing....and we are open on Easter Saturday if you would like a fabric fix.

You can tell by the look on Sammy's face that there are Easter eggs on the table, and now he is trying to tell us that it is only a myth that chocolate is bad for dogs.  Sammy would like to send a special thank you and a greeting to Kathy for sending him belly rubs all the way from St.Louis....and Sammy and all of us here at Threadbear wish you all a very Happy Easter.
