A Good Time Had by All . . .

Our newest sewing group, Passionate Piecers, made a flying start on Saturday with a full house of happy girls.  Margaret McDonald was our guest speaker and treated us to a selection of her stunning quilts as well as designing a special block just for us.  We all went home with the pattern for a unique hexagon block ~ lucky us!

Here are a few pics of yummy quilts shared during Show & Tell ~
Carmen's beautiful hexagons.
Ronda is hand quilting her Montmellick!
Wendy's 'Just Plain Nuts'.
Helen's Mountmellick in her fabric choices.
A 1930s quilt Corliss has in her collection.

"The Settlement Collection" by Jeanne Horton is a group of very useful blending fabrics ~ all of which have made their way onto my shelf!

This red is much like the one below - just doesn't show in the pic.

A few new books have arrived into stock to tempt us with more on the way . . .

Sam is doing a lot of 'supervising' in his mum's newly renovated sewing room most nights!
Hope you are finding plenty of time to stitch as our days gradually get shorter.

Just Divine.

We seem to be having an outbreak of prettiness on our shelves....last week we had stunning birds and now we have "For Your Love" by Renee Nanneman.....in Megan's words "just divine"....

We have one absolutely gorgeous large print and 11 divine small prints, and every one is beautiful...tiny pretty little prints in strong colours....nothing wishy washy about this pretty range.

We want them all and the 1/8 pack is impossible to resist....the range is $25.00 and these gorgeous 1/8 packs with all 12 are $36.00.

Quiltmania #106 has arrived.....we will be sending them out to all our subscribers today and we will have plenty of copies in the shop if you fancy some of the great projects and articles in this edition.

Quilts and Enchanting Homes features Tula Pink with some photos of her gorgeous sewing room...and just look at her fussy cutting.

Easter is on its way so there is a great quilt pattern with a very bunny border.

If you are a fan of Edyta Sitar you will love her fantastic houses....

There are 3 patterns for mini quilts......and my oh my just look at this gorgeous bird stitchery from Yoko Saito.

Call us at the shop if you would like a copy...they are $17.95.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend...we should all be enjoying beautiful soft days...it is either spring or autumn depending on where you are but these seasons mean gorgeous days for us all.

You can see that Sammy is enjoying our beautiful autumn weather.....this is the best we could do for a photo today...he is very very busy in the garden.

What...only 3 new fabrics???

Yes, that is right, another week has gone by and only 3 new fabrics to show.  They are very pretty and we like love them all...but really.....only 3.

We thought we would have a quick shop tour so you can see all our shelves still brimming with fabrics.  At the front door we have two of Megan's wonderful quilts..."Miss Matty's Parlour" and "Worthing Downs".

And shelves and shelves of lovely gorgeous fabrics....in the front room we are particularly fond of our spots and stripes and we love our beautiful Yuwa prints, toiles and soft pretty florals.

And up the step and into the shop we have Corliss's "Civil War Bride" and "The Caswell Quilt"....lovely to look at each day as we work...

Lots more fabrics, beautiful Dutch Chintz and some of our favourite current reproduction ranges..."Bessie's Blues and Victorias Violets and the wonderful "Threads of Time".

And today's lost treasures.....fabrics we completely forgot that we had, "Patchwork Garden" in 2 colourways from Moda...$23.00 mt.

But tune in next week.....new fabric for sure!!!!

Just a reminder that we will be closed on Monday for the Labour Day holiday...that is whole extra day of sewing time for everyone.
And a reminder too that Threadbear has changed our weekend trading hours...we still open at 10.00 on Saturday and 11.00 on Sunday but we will be closing at 2.00 pm on both days...that is still plenty of time to pop in for supplies and a cuddle with Sammy....and then a whole afternoon free for sewing.

Sammy joined us as we took the photos for our shop tour....today he is in charge of the counter, he is here to serve and help you with all your needs....as long as he gets a cuddle in return.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, hope you get lots of sewing done this long weekend.
