Whooooohooooooo

Well excitement is at fever pitch now....we are a little bit like children on Christmas Eve....so much to look forward to this weekend.....and maybe just a tiny bit of chaos thrown in for good measure.
We are already greeting friends at the shop, and is great to know that we get to spend the entire weekend with lots and lots happy people...you can't ask for anything better than that.
As well as welcoming everyone arriving for the Quilt Exhibition, we would also like to welcome everyone arriving for applique school tomorrow and a big welcome to our wonderful teachers Margaret McDonald and Di Ford.

So, as if too much excitement is not enough we also had our delivery man bring us some more gorgeous Petra Prins and Nel Kooiman goodness.....look...just look...what came out of the box first.....who is not going to love this divine, and totally useable border print.

We have all seen Petra and Nel's gorgeous Dutch chintz before but we are still pretty excited to have an extra delivery and this time they came along with companion blenders, and the colours of these blenders are stunning.

Do you ever worry that your list of "must do" quilts is growing longer all the time...well, if you do then this weekend will be no help at all.   Quilt shows always send us home brimming with inspiration, but as if that isn't enough Corliss and Megan both have new patterns in the shop this weekend and both their absolutely stunning quilts are hanging in the shop for us all to enjoy.....

"Beamish Scrapbag" by Corliss Searcy
"Elsternwick" by Megan Carroll
Now, just I case you have been living under a rock these past few months and don't know about our weekend plans, here it is just one last time.

We hope you can all join us over the weekend for all the fun that comes with a trip to a quilt show...please come and say hi to us at the shop and see Corliss and Megan's stunning new quilts.
We have had a busy week in lead up to the weekend but we have had all our vitamins and we are ready to party.....as you can see, Sammy is dealing with the chaos well.....he has taken his teddy and gone to sleep.

Have a great weekend everyone...if you are too far away to join us this weekend we promise you lots of photos next week, and to everyone else, please come and join us for all the fun.

Good Grief....3 Days To Go.

Lovely Moda fabrics today...and as we know, Moda fabric is always gorgeous.  "Printemps" by 3 Sisters by Moda is 15 pretty pretty prints.  There are plenty of those beautiful soft reds that we love Moda so much for....along with buttery yellows and soft pinks and creams.

Do you ever dream of beautiful soft polka dots for blenders or backgrounds....well if so, just look how gorgeous these four prints are.

Things are really hotting up around here this week..only three days now until the Quilt Exhibition..it has been wonderful to see everyone as they check their quilts in, ready for exhibition...Sammy has been on hand all week to help receive the quilts and make sure all the paperwork is correct.

The quilts have all been delivered in their calico bags and my goodness...it takes all the willpower we can muster to resist sneak peaks...just like everyone else we are just busting to see all these quilts hanging on Saturday and Sunday.
Needless to say all that work has required alot of extra concentration for Sammy....no wonder he needs a little day dream every now and then.

We are so looking forward to the weekend ahead, and cant wait to catch up with everyone....hope you can all make it to Castlemaine this weekend for the Quilt Exhibition...and if you live too far away to join us this weekend you can be sure we will share all the fun and excitement on our blog.

Extras.

We have extra bolts of  a couple of favorites from a few weeks ago...these two prints from "First Ladies" by Nancy Gere sold out quick smart because they are such pretty fabrics but now we have an extra bolt of each.

We also have extra bolts of these two fabrics....a little bit goes a long way with these two fabrics but if you are ever searching for petals, leaves and birds wings and tails these are handy ones to have in the stash.

Just one more Quiltmania book to look at today.  "Mothers Dream Friends" by Reiko Kato is just as cute as can be.

If you love Reiko Kato well you will already know how adorable her work is and if you just like darn cute  little projects you will also love this book.  It is full of cushions, gorgeous little purses and beautiful appliqué.

This time next week we will be beside ourselves with excitment...only one week now until all the excitement of our quilt exhibition..surely there isn't anyone left that dosnt know that Saturday March 15th and Sunday March 16th will find us all at the Market Building in Castlemaine, surrounded by a huge collection of stunning quilts.....and it goes without saying that we just can't wait to see EVERYONE over the weekend...can you imagine the fun we are all going to have.

We have  another tiny sneak peak....this time we have taken a sneaky snap of  Corliss's new quilt...and that is another reason to look forward to next weekend....Wow, how good will it be to see more of this amazing quilt.

Just a reminder that Threadbear will be open on Saturday and Sunday this weekend but we will be closed this Monday for the public holiday.

Sammy is sending his best wishes for a great long weekend...as you can see by his big toothy smile he is looking forward to a fun weekend.  Have a great weekend everyone and we hope you all get lots of sewing time.

Quilt Show Countdown.

We really are counting down now...as our quilt exhibition on March 15th and 16th gets closer and closer...this means we have plenty to do in the lead up to this exciting event....quilts have been arriving at Threadbear ready for the big weekend and we can only hope that everyone is as excited as we are about the quilt show, now less than two weeks away.

Corliss and Megan will both have new quilts to unveil on the weekend of the quilt show..here is just a tiny sneak peak at Megan's new quilt, "Elsternwick".

It is just enough of a peak to have us all busting with excitment and hanging out to see more.

We are always glad when we have this fantastic Quiltmania book back in stock....if you haven't  seen this wonderful book " Daily Quilt" by Yoko Saito yet we just take a look.

It is an absolute gem of a book with tons of small projects and several larger quilt patterns, all in true Yoko Saito style.  The projects in this book are just gorgeous.

The text in this book is in French but the instructions and the measurements are so clear that the French text is no barrier to making some, or all of the 101 projects in the book.

We are also very pleased to receive our second delivery of Michelle Yeo's new book, "Of Needle, Thimble and Thread"...our first delivery sold out so quickly....we have more in stock now so just let us know if you would like a copy. Congratulations Michelle on the success of your beautiful book.

It is not all glamour life style here at Threadbear, we still have to do our housekeeping chores and we just caught Megan doing the vacuumning to make sure everything is spic and span in the shop.

Hard at work as you can see.

We have a second round of "Mountmelick" Block of the Month parcels to prepare and send out this week.  That is such great news for everyone on the waiting list and it means that everyone that wanted to join in now has a place for Di Ford's gorgeous quilt.

Good news for everyone, bad news for Sammy, nearly drowning in fabric....on no...not more folding.

And just a reminder that next weekend is a long weekend in Victoria and Threadbear  will be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday but closed on Monday March 10th, for the Labour Day Holiday.

Bits and Pieces.

We don't have a new fabric range to show you today but we do have some very yummy bits and pieces, and they are all pretty nice.

We have had lots of enquiries about this second fabric and we told every one that we had sold out..."oh no", we said..."there is no more of that fabric" we said....well, we lied because look...a whole new bolt has arrived....if you are one of the many out there that we lied to just ring us at the shop and we will arrange to send you some.

We lied about the Block of the Month too...

Di Ford's Mystery Block of the Month, "Mountmellick"., through  Quiltmania magazine, is well underway and we have finally completed our first mail out...BUT...we do have extra places to offer...if anyone missed out, or is only now wishing they could join in to make Di's gorgeous quilt just call us, or email us at the shop and we will sign you up.

It is so nice to have Megan Carroll's beautiful "Eliza's Irish Medallion" hanging in the shop again...we always have patterns for this gorgeous quilt but we haven't had it hanging in the shop for a while now and it is so lovely to see it every day.....if you visit us at the shop make sure you have a sticky beak at Megan's stunning Broderie Perse centre and the beautiful appliquéd borders.

This big empty box means that the post has gone and all the block of the month parcels have left the building....it is sure to fill up again by next week as we send out parcels to all those on the waiting list....mean time it seems like a good spot for Sammy to keep his eye on things...he likes to make sure everything is done properly at Threadbear.
Have a wonderful weekend every one and of course we hope you all get lots of sewing done.  We welcome Autumn this weekend...perfect weather for sewing.
