Come and Have A Cuppa.

Our sale started yesterday and we had a wonderful day in the shop meeting lots of fantastic ladies...some had travelled from NSW and Queensland to join us and it was great to meet people and put some faces to names.  We have tea and coffee at the ready in the classroom and delicious biscuits if you need an extra sugar hit....Sammy was so happy to have visitors come and join him for a chat and a cuppa.
We are having a great time with our spot prizes, if a bell rings when you are being served you get to choose something from Sammy's special box of goodies and there are some really great things to choose from, books, patterns and fabric packs and lots of other bits and pieces.

We loved meeting the happiest bunch of girlfriends all the way from Queensland, just off the plane and into Threadbear for some fun...we laughed and giggled the whole time and just loved seeing all their beautiful fabric choices...thanks for such a fun visit, we hope you have a fantastic girly weekend in Melbourne.

Ooooh we have such amazing show and tell for you today...thank you so very much for sharing your amazing work to inspire us all...

We simply fell in love with Sharon Ghalayini's English Baskets Quilt....there were gasps all around as we looked at the stunning colours and pretty, pretty flowers in Sharon's blocks and we are all looking forward to seeing more of this great quilt as work progresses.

And look at these hexagons, good grief....Lisa from Hay in NSW is the owner of this stunner with all those tiny little hexagons...Lisa your quilt is just beautiful...the colours are fantastic and it is real joy to look at...this is the type of inspiration that just makes you want to go straight home and sew...no house work...just sew.

We even have some new fabric in the shop today..."Lydia" circa 1875  by Mary Koval...Wow...what can we say about this loveliness...one look and we are itching to use all of the fabulous prints in this range...so very tempting.

Our sale goes for three more days, as you can imagine that means Sammy is pretty excited...we all know how much he loves greeting friends to the shop....we are open till 5.00 today and 10.00 to 4.00 on Saturday and 11.00 to 4.00 on Sunday.  We would love to see everyone for a cuppa, a biscuit and maybe a great bargain.

Yuuuummmmm...Delicious Fabric

We have been waiting for this fabric to arrive and we were certainly not disappointed when we pulled it out of the boxes...every single fabric in this range is simply sensational.  "Amelia" by Jo Morton is stunning.

Those of you that love to fussy cut will have twitching fingers just looking at these gorgeous signature prints.

The border stripes are fantastic and the rich colours through out the range just make you want them all.  If you cant decide and would like a little bit of all 31 in this range we 1/8 packs  $93.00.

Alison came for a visit this week and brought her project for us to enjoy...thank you so much Alison for letting us share your work...and oh good grief everyone, just take a look at this.

Alison is working on "Dutch Treat"....this project is all reverse appliqué and our jaws just dropped when we saw Alison's tiny tiny, perfect stitches...it is simply stunning....and while we were still in complete awe of Alison's beautiful work she told us that this was her first attempt at appliqué...well...what can we say to that....Alison has even added some Aussie icons to her "dutch Treat"...we bet you are all as impressed as we are.

We are all busy getting ready for tomorrow's appliqué school, but Sammy has just stopped for a moment for a pose....he has been to the parlour and is showing off his fine new hair cut...very handsome Sammy!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekendnd and we wish everyone lots and lots of sewing time.

It is April...Nearly Time For Chocolate.

Well today is the first day of April so that means that the great chocolate festival is on its way....as it is April now do you think it is too early to start sneaking the occasional little foil covered egg or maybe a yummy hot cross bun now and then...after all we do have to get into training for the Easter weekend.
It is a good time to mention our Easter trading hours...we will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday and will be open on Easter Monday from 11.00 to 4.00.
We will also be closed on April 25th for Anzac Day.

New fabric today is "Woodlands"...30 absolutely fantastic Jo Morton prints, with three wonderful all over florals and 27 beautiful blenders in rich dark colours, ranging through inky blues, deep rich greens and browns and great blacks.

They are so rich and inviting and we also have fat 1/8 packs of this inky goodness with all 30 prints for $90.00.

We will have a few more photos of quilts from our recent Quilt Exhibition on Friday but today we are feasting our eyes on some customer show and tell.

Thank you to Marianne for bringing in her completed quilt top to share...it is so very pretty,  what a perfect autumn quilt, with lots of soft muted colours and lots of perfect points on those stars.

We always love it when Marg and Megan from Shepparton come to the shop for a visit...they are great fun...and just look at the show and tell Marg had to share.

Thank you so much Marg for letting us show your stunning quilt top....Marg has hand pieced this quilt to perfection, it is a joy to look at and will surely become a family heirloom.

Preparations are in place for another fantastic Appliqué School with teachers Margaret McDonald and Di Ford, this coming Saturday and as usual we are sure everyone will be in for a happy and inspirational day.....
Sammy doesn't seem too stressed by the preparations going on around him...he has grabbed his favourite toy and is supervising from the chair.
