Gorgeous Things Today.

A new Judie Rothermel range arrived yesterday......"Shirts and Ties" is a small range but Judie Rothermel always delivers on great fabrics and these are a collection of classic shirtings with just a few pops of colour thrown in...all small prints and wonderful shirtings.

This is a great collection of really handy fabrics for the stash....they are $24.00 mt. and if you like them, the 1/8 pack has all 16 for $48.00.  We can never have too many gorgeous shirtings....right!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Joy for once again sharing more of her simply amazing work.

If you have seen Joy's quilts on the blog before you will know she has a real talent for using colour and her scrappy quilts are always stunning...Wow...thanks for the inspiration Joy, your work makes us want to sew, sew, sew.

Now....just look at this wonderful piece of Kurt's furniture that has appeared in the shop...isn't it a stunner.

If you had a collection of pretty things this would be the perfect cabinet to display them in, but all we can think of  is how good it would look in our sewing rooms with all our precious vintage haby and our favourite pretty fabrics....we all want it.

We are expecting another hot day today but Sammy has arrived for work full of enthusiasm.....he has a chair with his name on it right in front of the air con.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend everyone....and hope you all get to do lots of lovely sewing.

"Sutton Grange" has come for a visit.

We are lucky to have Di Ford Hall's beautiful "Sutton Grange" in the shop at the moment so if you would like to come and feast your eyes on this gorgeous quilt then pop in for a visit.
If you love this quilt and you are free on Saturday 28th February we still have a few spots left for Di Ford's class...the class will run from 10.00 to 4.00...cost for the day is $95.00 and this includes morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch.

You will be guaranteed a wonderful day of learning with Di and you will leave full of inspiration and new tricks, ready to finish your very own "Sutton Grange". Surely it must be time for us all to start a new project....and if you started this quilt at our Applique School last year and need a bit of a refresher, well come along and let Di inspire you all over again.

Megan has been busy this week cutting new shirting rolls for the shop.  If you love shirtings and love to have a good supply in your stash well this is the perfect way of collecting them...there are 12 different shirtings in each roll, 6" x 21" and the are $24.00 per roll.

Don't they look pretty....how to decide on a colour, we have red, green, blue, brown and black.

Well...finally we are set to see some warm weather this weekend and Sammy has had a haircut.  Now he is ready for the heat with his new summer style and he insisted on a close up to show his new trim fringe...so handsome.

Have a great weekend everyone...and stay cool, or warm, depending on where you are...either way we hope your weekend is great and we hope you get lots of sewing done.

A Great Day was had by all!

Di Ford Hall always gives us the best of days and Saturday was no exception when we gathered to stitch on her gorgeous quilt, 'Mountmellick'.  This was her Mystery Quilt offered last year through the Quilt Mania magazine.  Now finished as a BOM it is offered as a complete pattern so no one misses out on it.  Some of the girls had already made a good start and others were concentrating of their quilt centre.
Di gives a 'hands on' lesson in Broderie Perse
Sonia's gorgeous golden centre
Dianne's choice of centre fabrics.
Michelle decided on applique instead of Broderie Perse.

Whose lovely borders were these?  Sorry ~ I don't know.
A lovely quilt at Show & Tell . . .
Lyn's original design
And how lucky were we to see the start of a new quilt for Di's next book through Quilt Mania.  This one is called Pendle Hill and the best news is that we've booked a class on it with Di for July 4th!  The class will be for this stunning centre and it's first border ~ then we'll all have to wait until the publication of her new book for the rest of the quilt.  What a head start that will give us.  Call us to sign up now!
