Star of Bethlehem ~ Christmas must be coming!

Christmas Hours ~ Closing Sunday 18 December 2016
                               Reopening  Thursday 5 January 2017

These six new fabrics arrived last week and are so aptly named as Christmas gets alarmingly closer by the day!  Star of Bethlehem ~ 1860-1880, by Washington Street Studios, are not Christmas fabrics, but are reproduced by the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum from a traditional Star of Bethlehem quilt in its collection.  We added just six from the range to our shelves.  The serpentine print is gorgeous in mid pink or cornflower blue.  Each would benefit from a dip in some tea if you want a more muted antique look.  These are perfect for fussy cutting, setting triangles, or borders.  The small prints will also lend themselves very well to appliqued flowers and other shapes. They all sit beautifully in front of Corliss' Caswell Quilt!

Speaking of Christmas ~ here are some great ideas for "Kris Kringle" gifts, or little stocking fillers for your sewing friends.  These little "Bits & Pieces" are just that, but all are at least a 10" square or equivalent and are just $1 a piece!!!  At Threadbear, we always have lots of Fat Eighths on hand at $3 each, or Fat Quarters at $6 each.  Phone us with your selection and we'll post them to you that day.

Bits & Pieces ~ $1.00 each.

We've also restocked our favorite Little House Patchwork Pins in the teeny tiny glass bottle.  They're sharp, they're fine, and at $15.50 each, they make a great gift.  And what quilter do you know doesn't always need some extra pins?

While the whole idea of Christmas preparations might seem a little daunting to many of us, Sammy remains cool calm and collected and is preparing for the coming festive season in his usual way....by taking a nap.....often!  Have a great weekend everyone.
