More Weekend Fun.

Yes, more weekend fun for all of us...last weekend we had our 12 hours of sewing fun and now we are getting ready for another fantastic day on Saturday, when we will be joined by 25 ladies, all set for a great day with Di Ford.
Di will be taking a fussy cutting class for us here at Threadbear, so it goes without saying that we are in for a great day...and we will all be going home with our heads full of new techniques and tips for cutting holes all over our favourite fabrics....hopefully we will have some photos for you next week.

We received some really great new fabric this week...."Cumberland Prints" from Andover are a little different from our regular cotton prints....these three fabrics are a very nice slubby chambray and they have the loveliest pre aged, soft antique look and feel to them.

We have one rusty antique coloured toile print and two soft cream prints....all with a soft cotton slub and an open chambray weave.  They are $22.00 mt. and you can call or email us at the shop if you would like some.

Wouldn't it be a dream come true to have one, (or more) of Kurt's amazing quilt stands at home to display all those finished quilts we all have piled up....

We have some of these great quilt stands in the shop at the moment and Kurt also makes them to order...Kurt is in the shop every weekend if you ever need to talk to him about his beautiful furniture.

Have a great weekend everyone....we hope you all get some warm cosy sewing time this weekend...
It is a busy Friday here today....packing goodies for our class tomorrow and getting ready to welcome everyone for a fun day....Sammy is feeling the pressure...it is a hectic schedule for him...his work never ends.

Welcome Return.

If you had have been with us in the shop this week you would have heard the little squeals of delight when we opened up a box and saw these gorgeous little treats.....do you remember "Birdsong"....what can you say about this fabric...other than ooohhhhh.

It sold out in a snap last time we had this stunner and now we have one bolt of pink and one bolt of latte.....it is $22.00 mt and you can ring or email us at the shop if you give into temptation....but we don't think they will last very long.
And then ..out of the same box came this rich delicious red paisley, another one that disappeared in a snap last time...if you are a paisley addict this is one of the best...

A big thank you to Jacqui King for bringing along her quilt to share with us all...wow, Jacqui, your quilt really is fantastic....what a fabulous job you have done making this quilt.  Jacqui did a class with Di Ford here at Threadbear making "Miss Porter's Quilt" featured in Di's book "Primarily Quilts" and we think that Jacqui has made a beautiful quilt.

We were all very excited to see some news from the Netherlands about 2 of Megan's beautiful quilts. "Worthing Downs"and "Miss Mattie's Parlour".

We are so lucky here at Threadbear because we see these beautiful quilts every day, but what a thrill it is to know that quilters just like us, in the Netherlands are enjoying Megan's quilts as much as we do.
Quilters at the Dutch shop "De Frottende Freule" are being offered two of Megan's patterns, and both quilts were featured on De Frottende Freule's stand at this years Quilt Festival in the Netherlands...Congratulations Megan...your beautiful quilts inspire us all.

Sammy is congratulating Megan with lots of tail wags....in front of the heater of course.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone...hope everyone gets lots of sewing time..at Threadbear we are welcoming 70 ladies for a fantastic Midwinter sit and sew.....from Midday to Midnight on Saturday there will be stitching, laughter, and a whole heap of fun...so we should have some great photos to share next week....

We have shown you this range..."Paula's Companions" by Paula Barnes before, but now that we have made these 1/8 packs we have renewed enthusiasm....we just love this 1/8 pack...look at those colours, how handy would one of these packs be in the sewing room...there are 28 fat 1/8s in this pack for $84.00.

Thank you so very much to Robyn Fagan this week for bringing her wonderful quilt "Smithsonian Stars" to share with us...

If you have already seen this stunner of a quilt that is because Robyn won 1st prize with this quilt...in the catagory Mainly Appliqué, two person, amateur and professional....at this years Showcase. Congratulations Robyn, it is easy to see why you are a prize winner and we thank you for bringing your quilt  in to share with us.

It is a cold grey day here today...we have the heater turned way up high and Sammy still has his overcoat on....as for going outside, well you can see by the look on his face that he has no interest at all in that suggestion.
