Merry Christmas to All.

Today is our last day in the shop before we close for our Christmas break but we will be back in the shop on January 4th for a brand new year of fabric and fun, fun, fun.

We just have a few more gorgeous fabrics to look at before we close for our break...we won't be in the shop to answer phone calls but we will be checking our emails daily so if there is anything you would like you can just send us an email.

If you like a tiny pop of black in your projects from time to time then you will love "American Gothic" by Pam Buda for Marcus Fabrics.  It is a collection of really interesting blacks, some tone on tones, and some with gorgeous small prints.

And a collection of random loveliness just delivered to the shop.

Some of these fabrics you will have seen before and some are old favorites that we are happy to have again.
These fabrics wont be on our website but just email us if you would like any, or you can ring us at the shop on January 4th.

Not long now till all our attention will be on the first mail out of the Quiltmania, Mystery Block of the Month with Di Ford, starting in January....places to join this project have filled fast but there are limited places still available. Please let us know if you would join us for this fantastic project...all the details are on the home page of our website..

It is our last blog post for 2013 and we think all the hard work this year has finally taken its toll on Sammy, we still have work to do today but Sammy is snoozing on the job...or could it be too many Christmas parties.

We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and to say a huge thank you to everyone for all your fun, and support through out  2013...and we all look forward to more fabric fun and lots and lots of sewing time in 2014.

From Corliss, Megan, Annabelle, Kurt and Sammy...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

Don't Forget the Label

If you have made any quilts as gifts this Christmas then this panel is for you...every one knows that fantastic feeling when the last stitch goes into the binding & the quilt is finally finished...but wait...oh no..the label.

This panel makes that final job a little bit easier...There are 18 different labels per panel and the panel is $14.10..it is not on our web site but you can call us at the shop or send us an email if you would like some.

We had a lot of fun in the shop on Thursday when Deb from Albury came for a visit...she showed us photos of some of her beautiful quilts and brought in a work in progress for us to feast our eyes on.

Deb was looking for some extra reds for this pretty pretty quilt...just gorgeous Deb and thank you for sharing..Sammy particularly loved Debs visit, he got lots of cuddles and Sammy loved Deb's quilt too.

We don't know how we are supposed to concentrate on our Christmas shopping with so much gorgeous new fabric arriving..."First Ladies" 1865 to 1875 by Nancy Gere for Windham Fabrics arrived this week and as you can see there is plenty of fabrics in this range that would be a great addition to the stash.

Sammy has put us all in a very festive mood this week as he started his practice for Carols by Candlelight"...."Jingle Paws" is his favorite. Have a wonderful weekend everyone...it is a busy time of year but we hope everyone has a little time for some sewing this weekend.

Gorgeous Fabric

Look everyone...we have more lovely fabric to look at today...this new range was delivered last Friday and we fell in love with it the minute it came out of the box.

"Vin du Jour" from Moda is another large range.  We have 38 prints in total, full of beautiful Moda colours, ranging from soft purples and equally soft wines...muted creams and gorgeous buttery yellows....all such great useable prints, and including lots of totally gorgeous blenders.

"Vin de Jour also includes the fabulous signature print we showed you on Friday...very Frenchy indeed.

Huge thanks this week goes to Marianne for bringing her beautiful hexagon quilt to the shop for us all to see...Marrianne, this is such a pretty quilt...it is absolutely gorgeous, and what this photo doesn't show is all of Marianne's neat, tidy, perfect stitches...it is a delight to look at.

Sammy had a fantastic weekend because he got to catch up with all his CAG friends and he got so many pats and cuddles.
You can tell by the look of dismay on Sammy's face that there were no dog treats in the gifts we wrapped last week...but he has written his letter to Santa.

Big Really is Beautiful

Wow, another new range has arrived this week..."Little Big Quilts" from RJR fabrics...this is a big range, 40 prints in all, and every single print in this range is absolutely fantastic.

Yes, we know we say this all the time but just look at these gorgeous fabrics.

"Little Big Quilts" is $22.00 mt and if you love every single print then our fat 1/8 packs are $120.00.  Not on our website yet but you can just call us or email us if you would like some and we will be happy to help.

We also have a quick sneak peak of fabric we will be showing you next week, just delivered and unpacked this very second, and so so pretty that we couldn't wait to show you what's coming on next weeks blog...more stunning colours and look at this fantastic signature print.

We are all full of excitement this afternoon preparing for tomorrow's meeting of The Castlemaine Appliqué Group.  Tomorrow's meeting is the last for 2013 and we are expecting to have a wonderful, happy day.  We will all be full of festive spirit and as well as the usual sit and sew, great lunch and fabulous show and tell, we will have lots to talk about, including plans for our first exhibition in March 2014....Make sure you save the date.

Sammy has been a great help in the classroom this afternoon, he has been helping us with our gift wrapping.  We thought it was because he is full of Chritmas spirit but turns out he is just wondering if there are doggie treats in any of the parcels.

We hope you all have a really great weekend...hope you all have lots of fun and enjoy lots of sewing time.

Peace and Unity for All.

More new fabric this week...a fantastic range from Judie Rothermel...Civil War, "Peace and Unity". Of course you will know already what we are going to say...it's Judie Rothermel, so it is a given that all of the fabrics in this range are wonderful. There are 25 prints in the range, it is $18.00 mt....and just look at how good these prints are.

Not much longer to wait now until we can get our paws on the January edition of Quiltmania Magazine, and as time gets closer we are getting more and more excited.  The January edition will have the first instalment of Di Ford's Mystery Block of the Month.  Staring with the January edition of the magazine, the pattern will continue in each edition of Quiltmania throughout 2014.  The only thing about Di Ford's Mystery Block of the Month that is no mystery at all is that it is going to be GORGEOUS, and now we have all been treated to a little sneak peak of what is ahead for us in 2014...Wow, very very exciting!

If you would like to be part of this exciting Block of the Month and would like to make this quilt using Di's choice of fabrics you can contact us at the shop by phone or email and we will add you to our list...what a great project to start the New Year.

As you know, we had to move lots of furniture last week to make room for our new fabric but now we have to tell Sammy there is no room for his gentleman's chair...doesn't look like he is interested in moving any time soon.
