Bigger and Better, New and Improved.

Just look at what we have been up to this week...Threadbear has doubled  in size, so not only do we have heaps more room but we have heaps more fabric too....first we pulled the whole shop apart and then we put it all together again, bigger and better, new and improved.

We hope you will all be as excited as we are when you see all the changes we have made in the shop this week.  Now we have a whole new extra room that is already full of gorgeous fabric...we hope you can all visit us soon to see our lovely new shop.

Now that we have all this extra space and lots of shelves full of great fabric, we are looking forward to lots of fun at Threadbear in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Threadbear will be closing for our Christmas break on Tuesday December 17th and we will re-open again on Saturday 4th of January.

Apart from the excitment of our beautiful brand new room we also have a great new range to show you...fans of Paula Barnes will love her new range from Marcus Fabrics, "Bordeaux and Sienna".

We have 13 really great prints from this range and two fantastic signature prints.  They are $23.00 mt and will be on the website next week.

Poor Sammy had the hardest job of all this week, there was lots of lifting, bending and carrying to be done but it was his job to supervise us all and make sure that everything was put in just the right place....That is a big job for a little dog and now he is just plain pooped.

We wish you all a happy weekend and look forward to welcoming you all to the brand new Threadbear very soon.

Three Big Cheers Today...More Dutch Chintz.

We think today it is just going to be lots of lovely photos and very few words because look at what was delivered today....More absolutely gorgeous, must have, Dutch Chintz...
This stunning Dutch Chintz is part of two brand new ranges designed by Petra Prins and Nel Kooiman.
First is Dutch Heritage Gujarat, $32.00 per mt...We have three colourways, a beautiful pale blue, a great crisp off white and a perfect pink.  One look at this fabric and we are already planning all the things we can do with it.

And then..as if one range of Dutch Chintz is not tempting enough, we also have VOC Chintz Pomegranate, also by Petra Prins & Nel Kooiman...also $32.00 mt.

This gorgeous feast of fabric is not on the website yet but if you can't wait to get your hands on some you can just ring us at the shop and we will arrange to send you some.

Even Sammy is excited by the arrival of new Dutch Chintz...he was snoozing on his chair until we started to unpack this lovely fabric and we are sure his eyes are bright and wide with excitement because of its arrival.

Yay...Toiles and Birds.

Oh, look what we have got...who doesn't love a good toile...and not just toiles but birds as well.

These gorgeous prints, in three colourways are from the "Jolie Collection" by Anna Griffin.

Can you imagine all the fun things we will be able to do with these gorgeous prints...They are in the shop now and will will be on our web site next week.

This week we have new lamps in the store and if you haven't seen these fantastic LED lights yet you will surely want to try one...they fold down to a size that will easily fit into your sewing basket, are so portable and perfect for sewing days....they run on batteries or can recharge from your computer so no need to find a power point when you are out sewing or in a class. They stand up well and they have a bright crisp light.

We also have fantastic new LED Light Pads.  They are the perfect size for tracing from pattern sheets but are so slim & light that they are great to take along in a sewing bag...no more lifting heavy light boxes. The LED lights are $29.95 each and the LED Light Pads are $119.00.  We think Santa should definitely know about these.

We are having a really great time in the shop today...we have had visitors from all over Australia today. Thanks  to Gerrie from Sydney and Gail from Gippsland for a fun visit.

As well as lots of chatter and fun in the shop we have also been busy cutting fabric for our fabric club mail out next week....and all Sammy has to say about that is "What.....more folding".

Wishing everyone a very happy weekend with lots and lots of sewing time.

Santa Says

Well we know it is getting closer and closer to Christmas, and gift buying is now in full frenzy...BUT...Santa says, buy this book for yourself  because it is just sensational.

Of course Christmas is the time for thinking of others but that doesn't mean we can't treat ourselves...right.

Just imagine having this lovely book to enjoy through all the Christmas madness.

As you can see, "Millefiori Quilts" by Willyne Hammerstein is a feast of gorgeous quilts just waiting to be put on our "to do" lists.

We received more great Christmas tins this week, they are really pretty tins and if you are stuck for gift ideas for your sewing friends, they are great filled with fabrics, chocolates....or both...we think that fabric and chocolate is the perfect combination at any time of the year.

As usual, Sammy was busy all weekend.  He had customers to greet in the shop and a very busy Sunday in the classroom with all his friends from the"Caswell Quilt" sit and sew...he was having such a great time in the class he even forgot his afternoon nap.

More Love

We have pretty things to look at today.

Look what our mid week delivery brought us...we were pretty excited when this fabric arrived because we had sold out of these stunning prints so quickly and didn't think we could get any more.  Now we have an extra bolt of blue and an extra bolt of pink, and they are so beautiful.

They are from Moda's "Love, Collection for a Cause" range, and if you are looking for a great border fabric, or fabric just perfect for Broderie Perse and Fussy Cutting, you may want some of this fabric for your stash...but be quick because we don't think they will last very long.

A big thank you to Lisa and her Mum for last weeks visit...Lisa came in to buy a border for this stunning quilt...so we just had to take a photo and share...isn't this quilt fantastic...all made using Barbara Brackman's "Metropolitan Fair"....and the colours in this great range are just perfect for all this hexagon love.  Thank you Lisa for letting us share.

Kurt and Sammy have been busy in the garden this week.

They have worked really hard and the garden looks beautiful. Kurt is still working but Sammy has decided it is time to kick back and enjoy a well earned rest...have a great weekend everyone.
