Fabric Beauties!

The arrival of boxes and boxes of fabric last week kept us all busy and now they are looking so so pretty on our shelves.  First up is Coryn with its drop-dead-gorgeous feature floral print and supporting prints in aqua, garnet, plum, and buttermilk.  There are endless possibilities with these fabrics from the most traditional to the most contemporary quilt, with bold and subtle colours and prints.

Next up is Chamberlain ~ Civil War by Nancy Gere.  These are beautiful prints in the very traditional mix of burgundy/red, beep blue, tan, cream, purple, and teal.  Choose from large and small prints, serpentine stripes and small background prints.  Something for everyone!

29 & 30 October Two-Day Class ~ Lambton by Katrina Hadjimichael ~ 10am-3pm
Number 7 in her Jane Austen series, this beautiful medallion quilt offers you a variety of blocks and methods. Join Katrina to learn her techniques for hand applique, hand piecing and paper piecing.This 2-day class will allow time to cover all aspects of this quilt while being entertained by the lovely Katrina!  Fee: $170

And as if that wasn't enough to inspire us all to go and pick up a needle and thread, here is Rhonda's fabulous Sutton Grange quilt now finished and ready for binding.  Well done Rhonda!

Our poor beloved Sammy had to visit the doggy dentist this week to have a wee bit of work done to improve his smile (and his breath!).  After a night on the couch with his favourite squishy toy firmly between his gums, he was back in form the next day ready for action.  Have a great weekend everyone!

These handy tools are perfect for trying out fussy cutting ideas before you cut!  They come in a set of 8 sizes in a durable plastic.  Sam of course has not been taking any interest in the new fabrics or Corliss' new quilt.  Rather, he found a paper shopping bag infinitely more interesting and spent quite some time investigating before finally emerging with the prize ~ Duck Treats YUMM...!  Have a great weekend everyone.

A great start to a bright shiny new year!

Happy New Year Everyone and welcome back!.  After a fabulous couple of weeks break, we opened again on Monday we hit the ground running as we welcomed  lots of happy customers through the doors, including the delivery man with boxes of new fabric. What a perfect start to 2016!
The Sampler 1870-1890 by Windham Fabrics offers us 22 beautiful fabrics which work together brilliantly.  They are all in tiny finely detailed prints in a combination of geometric and dotted squggly bits (yes, that is a technical term) .  You'll find 7 light cream shirtings, 7 medium reds, and 7 medium yellowish greens.  All are equally useful for piecing or applique.

Also new in our shop window this week is this beauty, meticulously restored and reinvented by Kurt.  This brilliant old ice chest makes an excellent storage cupboard for quilts, fabrics, linen, or just about anything.  Plus, it's a useful surface on top to display all kinds of treasures.  If you'd like to put this charming old ice chest to good use at your place, phone us at Threadbear on 54721881 for details.

Christmas may have come and gone in a flash, but Sam enjoyed every bit of it.  He can sniff out a Christmas present from 50 metres and made quick work of unwrapping his, and everyone else's gifts on Christmas day.  Today, he is back on duty at the shop and has left his new squeaky duck at home.
