Curl up with a good book

We thought we'd show you a little more of one of Quiltmania's new books,  Focus On Applique by Irene Blanck. Also Back In Stock today is the gorgeous and very popular Les Fantaisies by Cecile Franconie.  Cecile loves to add richly embellished detail to her work and she offers you lots of small projects with all her techniques and tips.  This has been very popular so it won't last long on our shelves.

Sam has emailed us from his holiday camp to tell us he's having a great time with fellow doggie camper Quazzie...well that was until Quazzie had to go home.

Now he's waiting on the friendly black poodle to arrive that he camped with last year.

More lovely new fabrics arrived in store this week at Threadbear.  Firstly we have Nel Kooimen and Petra Prins' latest additions to their Dutch Heritage collection.  The colours are gorgeous and the print is delicate and beautifully detailed.  And as for the border print...it's already walking out the door.

And as if that's not enough to wet your appetite, take a look at the superb IQSC Pinwheel , reproduced from the textile collection of the International Quilt Study Centre, Lincoln, Nebraska. The colours are rich and the prints range from  tiny geometrics, a bold paisley stripe, and an eye-catching feature "paisley" print ~ perfect for fussy cutting, or  a wonderful feature border.

Now as for Sammy this week - well he's gone on holiday to put his paws up by the fire, take long country walks with his fellow campers, and enjoy some well earned R & R.  Clearly he needs it! We'll miss you Sam.   Have a great weekend everyone.

19h Century Sampler ~ Palampore BOM

{Oops ~ It's Friday not Thursday ~ the computer gods conspired

 against us yesterday ~ hence the delay.}

 
Not surprisingly, there were oohs & aahs all round when Megan showed her completed quilt for our newest Block of the Month.  Her 19th Century Sampler is simply sensational!!  Megan has cleverly cut up Mary Koval's Palampore panel into many, many bits and reassembled all the pieces in Broderie Perse, applique and pieced blocks to create her stunning original quilt.  This BOM will start late June, so it's not too late to join in to make this beauty.  Email Threadbear to receive all the details and phone us to sign up.   Well done Megan !!

19th Century Sampler ~ BOM over 15 months

The very gorgeous collection of Hannah's Heritage graces our shelves.  In it, amongst many 'must have' prints is the lovely border stripe used in Di's Mountmellick BOM from last year ~ in two new colourways.

We picked our very favourites from Moda's Bon Voyage and already, some of these have disappeared from our shelves ~ so do not hesitate.  Just drooling over that toile print!

Lastly, for this week, we'll show you the collection of The Hint of Print.  Twelve yummy rich fabrics in stripes, flowers and geometric shapes in slatey blue, brick red soft olive.
